These are the five most basic rules that every bride should follow to maintain a fresh bouquet throughout the day.

After selecting a bouquet, it is important to know how to preserve its beauty. Since weddings typically last for the whole day, the flowers need special care to look fresh. Unlike other types of bouquets, bridal one’s require a special type of attention. Even if you have chosen the best florist in town with the most expensive flowers, it is no guarantee that they will stay fresh throughout the whole day. How the flowers look after hours mostly depends on you.

Keep in mind that every bouquet is unique and each requires a different approach, so do not forget to ask your florist what would be the best way to preserve it. Here are some tips to keep your flowers fresh:

1. Immediate care - choose someone to be in charge of your bouquet during the wedding. It is important that there is someone who can keep an eye out for the flowers and ensure that they stay hydrated for the rest of the day: between the photo shooting sessions, before/after the ceremony, etc.

3. Keep it out of sunlight - try to keep your bouquet in shade as much as you can. Sunlight is a hard test for even the most durable flowers. Of course, you will need it for a photoshoot, but whenever possible keep it in shade.

4. Avoid humidity and moisture - prevent any water drops getting onto the flowers, since it starts to decay. Use tissues to get rid of it.

5. If travelling with the bouquet to the wedding destination, ask the florist to put your bouquet into special foam with containing water, which will keep it fresh until first needed.
